Oh! Ridge Campground at June Lake

My friends, and I decided to do some camping at Yosemite during Labor Day weekend but it was planned a few months late. Last minute, I found an open campground outside Yosemite, and I was a bit unsure of it. I didn't know how the campground was and what they offered. I tried to research it online but didn't find much information. I took a chance and still continued to research and read vague reviews on it. When the weekend came, I was so glad we stuck with it. The campground was amazing! The campsite is located in Inyo National Forest and is about 1.5-2 hours from Yosemite Valley. The campground was divided into sections named after animals. The only campground with a lake view was Bear and Duck. All others didn't have a lake view but still surrounded by beautiful mountain views. The Rabbit campsite itself wasn't right in front of the lake but I felt with how everything was, it was fine. They had flushable toilets, potable water, a fire pit, grill, table and designated drive-in for your car. One drawback would definitely be the lack of shade that a lot of these campsites have. The only cell service available out there was AT&T and Verizon. Overall, I would recommend this campground!

The Ice Bar in West Covina

Ice Bar in West Covina is a cute little dessert place where they serve regular ice cream as well as customized decorated pop bars. Similar to Popbar in Anaheim, this place offers different toppings beside just regular chocolate and nuts. These pops offer a different blend of flavors. Things that I thought that would be weird to eat with ice cream worked out pretty well. It's definitely a nice treat on a hot day. I tried the strawberry mango pop with chile, lemon, and mint. Was dee-lish and worth a try. My friends got the green milk tea and strawberries and cream which all were very delicious. A definite recommend if you are in the area.

Distance: 7.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 594 feet

This hike is located in the San Gabriels and in Angeles National Forest. I was very surprised with this hike because I didn't think it was going to be much of a workout but it was! I had the opportunity to do this hike with my favorite people and it was definitely an enjoyable experience. It was a fairly hot day, in the 80s and the hike was intermittently shaded. Trails are well defined and the hike has many wonderful views of Devil's Punchbowl by the ranger station. There is also a loop if you wanted to do a really short hike. I'm definitely coming back during fall/winter time for this hike. I can imagine how beautiful it would be with all the snow.
