Devil's Chair & View of Devil's Punchbowl

Devil's Punchbowl View from Devil's Chair

Hike Breakdown:
Level: Moderate
Distance: 7.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 594 feet
Parking: Adventure/Interagency Pass

This hike is located in the San Gabriels and in Angeles National Forest. I was very surprised with this hike because I didn't think it was going to be much of a workout but it was! I had the opportunity to do this hike with my favorite people and it was definitely an enjoyable experience. It was a fairly hot day, in the 80s and the hike was intermittently shaded. Trails are well defined and the hike has many wonderful views of Devil's Punchbowl by the ranger station. There is also a loop if you wanted to do a really short hike. I'm definitely coming back during fall/winter time for this hike. I can imagine how beautiful it would be with all the snow.

This sign is posted a few miles before you hit the chair.

There were 180 views of Devil's Punchbowl before the start of the hike.

Start at Burkhart Trail that eventually splits to the main trail.

No clue what kind of insect that is

The trail is surrounded by many colorful plants.

No shade here...and not for awhile.
